Jobsdb, MyCareersFuture and LinkedIn: where to look for jobs in Hong Kong and Singapore

For jobs in Hong Kong, look on Jobsdb, which SEEK runs, and on CTgoodjobs and the Labour Department's free Interactive Employment Service. For Singapore, look on MyCareersFuture, the government portal, and on Jobstreet, SEEK's Singapore board. LinkedIn and Indeed carry jobs in both. Unless an advertising exemption applies, an employer must advertise a job on MyCareersFuture for at least 14 consecutive days before it applies for an Employment Pass, but only Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents can apply through it.

Before you fill in a profile anywhere, choose who can see it. Jobsdb and Jobstreet have four settings from Public to Hidden, MyCareersFuture lets you say you are open to opportunities or not, and LinkedIn's Open to Work can go to recruiters only or to every member. An employer you apply to sees your profile whatever you choose.

Who can see your profile on each board

Each board names its settings differently. Here are the two ends of each board's range, in its own words as read on 15 October 2026; the full list of settings, with a source for each, is in the side-by-side table further down.

BoardMost open settingMost closed setting
Jobsdb (Hong Kong)Public: anyone, signed in or not, can find you and see your name, location, role title and most recent company; search engines such as Google can show itHidden ("Applications only"): employers see your profile only when you apply to them
Jobstreet (Singapore)Public, as on JobsdbHidden, as on Jobsdb
MyCareersFuture (Singapore)Open to job opportunities: employers find you in Talent Search and Suggested Talents, and you are not told who lookedNot seeking opportunities: your profile is not surfaced to employers
LinkedInOpen to Work for all members: recruiters and people at your current company see it, with the #OpenToWork photo frameVisible only to you: LinkedIn uses your preferences to tailor your job recommendations
IndeedEmployers can find you: they can recommend jobs, review some of your profile and message youEmployers can't find you (the default): no contact unless you have applied
CTgoodjobs (Hong Kong)Standard: top employers see your contact details, video and CV; other employers need your approval for thosePrivate: no employer sees any of your profile
Labour Department iES (Hong Kong)No setting: employers see job-related details such as education, skills and job preferenceYour name, phone numbers and address are never shown

Jobsdb and Jobstreet

Jobsdb and Jobstreet run on SEEK's platform and describe their settings in the same words. Standard lets signed-in employers search for you, view your full profile and default resumé, and contact you through the details on your resumé or by email through Jobsdb. Limited lets them view your profile and message you through Jobsdb, but not see your resumé. Verified employers may also see your profile through recruitment software linked to Jobsdb, without signing in to Jobsdb; the same setting decides what they see there, and Hidden keeps you out of it. A new account may not show Limited at all, and may call Hidden "Applications only".

Both help centres say there is no way to hide your profile from a particular person or employer, because the setting applies to all potential employers. If your manager hires on Jobsdb, Public, Standard and Limited all let them find you.

MyCareersFuture

MyCareersFuture's FAQ says employers search "MyCareersFuture registered users who have their profiles set to 'open to job opportunities'", and that "the talents do not know who is looking at their profile". To stop all of that, choose Not seeking opportunities in your Profile Preferences. Employers never see the skills match score the site shows you. Records you link from the Careers & Skills Passport, which holds your skills, employment, qualifications and certifications from government-verified sources, have their own switch: under Verified Records, choose "Not visible to employers".

LinkedIn

Open to Work set to recruiters only is shown to people using LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn's product for recruiters. LinkedIn compares the company ID of your current employer with each recruiter's and hides your career interests from matches, but says it "can't guarantee complete privacy", because some companies or recruiters may be mapped wrongly. Separately, your public profile decides what search engines show. You can turn its visibility off, or hide sections of it, in your public profile settings.

Indeed and CTgoodjobs

Indeed lets you block up to 100 employers. Blocked employers cannot find your profile or resumé in search, but Indeed says blocking is not guaranteed and that an employer you apply to sees your application anyway. CTgoodjobs's Restricted setting lets every employer see your profile except your contact details and video, and asks for your approval before any of them sees your contact details or CV.

Which board for which search

Hong Kong

Jobsdb and CTgoodjobs are commercial boards. The Labour Department's Interactive Employment Service is free and open to job seekers who are legally employable in Hong Kong. Employers on it search candidates by their job-related details, and the department then tells the candidates they picked about the vacancy; the candidate decides whether to contact the employer.

Singapore, as a citizen or permanent resident

MyCareersFuture has the jobs an employer must advertise before an Employment Pass application. MOM requires those ads to show a salary range that every candidate can see, with a maximum no more than twice the minimum, to stay open for at least 14 consecutive days, and to be posted again for another 14 days if the salary, occupation, number of vacancies or hiring company changes. MOM's Fair Consideration Framework page adds that the employer should not make a job offer during those 14 days. MOM exempts some jobs from advertising there, including those at a company with fewer than 10 employees, those with a fixed monthly salary of $22,500 and above, and roles of not more than one month, so search Jobstreet and LinkedIn too.

Singapore, on a pass or from abroad

You can browse MyCareersFuture without signing in, but applying needs Singpass and is only for citizens and permanent residents. Apply through Jobstreet, LinkedIn, Indeed or the employer's own site. If you need an Employment Pass, the salary floor is a separate rule.

Looking while employed

Hidden on Jobsdb or Jobstreet, Private on CTgoodjobs and Not seeking opportunities on MyCareersFuture keep your profile out of employer searches, and you can still apply. LinkedIn's recruiters only and Indeed's block list each reduce the chance your employer sees you, but neither promises it. Once an offer comes, the notice period in Hong Kong decides when you can start.

Requests for money

SEEK says it "never charges fees as part of a job application or hiring process", and lists messages that ask for payment to secure a job or an interview as a scam pattern. An agency is a different case; see recruitment agency fees in Singapore and Hong Kong.

How we compared

We read each board's own help, privacy, FAQ and terms pages on 15 October 2026 and quote the settings in the board's own words. Where a page carries a date, the sources list shows it. The Jobsdb and Jobstreet help articles on hiding a profile load only in a browser, so we read them in one. Indeed's help pages opened only in their US edition, so the Indeed rows describe that edition. We checked that sg.jobsdb.com redirected to sg.jora.com on the same day.

The tables compare what each board says it does with your profile. They do not rank the boards or count their jobs or users.

Where ROUND.1 fits

ROUND.1 is a hiring marketplace for Hong Kong and Singapore, built by h.work. It is not a job board. Each candidate takes one AI first-round video interview, described in what is an AI interview, and ROUND.1 reuses it for the other roles the candidate chooses. The interview lasts about 20 minutes by default (roles can be shorter), 30 at most. A company first sees a candidate's scored evaluation without their name or contact details, which open to the company when it shortlists the candidate after the interview. Candidates pay nothing. More facts are on /ai-info.

Boards change their settings, so check the board's own page before you rely on one.

Frequently asked questions

What is Jobsdb?

Jobsdb is a job board for Hong Kong run by SEEK, a company founded in Melbourne in 1997 and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. SEEK also runs Jobstreet, its board in Singapore, and one set of terms covers both. On Jobsdb you search and apply for jobs, and you can keep a profile that employers can search, at one of four visibility settings: Public, Standard, Limited or Hidden.

Is Jobsdb free for job seekers?

For applying, yes. SEEK's Security Hub on Jobsdb says that SEEK never charges fees as part of a job application or hiring process. A message in Jobsdb's or SEEK's name that asks you to pay to secure a job, attend an interview or process documents is one of the scam patterns the Security Hub lists, in an alert dated 19 December 2025.

What is MyCareersFuture, and who can apply for jobs on it?

MyCareersFuture is the Singapore government's job portal, managed by the Skills and Workforce Development Agency with GovTech. Anyone can browse jobs on it without signing in. Applying needs a Singpass login, which its FAQ says is only available to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, and the service is free for them.

Is there a Jobsdb in Singapore?

SEEK's board in Singapore is Jobstreet, which has the same four profile visibility settings as Jobsdb. When we checked on 15 October 2026, sg.jobsdb.com redirected to sg.jora.com.

Can my current employer see my profile on Jobsdb or LinkedIn?

On Jobsdb you cannot hide your profile from one employer; the visibility setting you choose applies to all of them, and Hidden means only employers you apply to see it. On LinkedIn, Open to Work set to recruiters only is shown to LinkedIn Recruiter users, and LinkedIn takes steps to keep recruiters at your current company from seeing it, but says it cannot guarantee complete privacy. Set to all LinkedIn members, it includes people at your current company and adds the #OpenToWork photo frame.

Do job ads on MyCareersFuture have to show a salary?

Ads used for an Employment Pass application do. An employer that wants to apply for an Employment Pass must first advertise the job on MyCareersFuture for at least 14 consecutive days, unless an advertising exemption applies, such as a company with fewer than 10 employees or a fixed monthly salary of $22,500 and above. For those ads, MOM requires a salary range that is visible to all candidates, with a maximum no more than twice the minimum, and that contains the salary offered to the pass holder. MOM also says the employer should not make a job offer during those 14 days.

Where should I look for jobs in Hong Kong?

Jobsdb, run by SEEK, and CTgoodjobs are Hong Kong job boards, and the Labour Department's Interactive Employment Service is the government's free one, open to job seekers who are legally employable in Hong Kong. LinkedIn and Indeed also carry Hong Kong jobs. Most let you keep a profile that employers can search, and each has its own rules for how much of it they see.
